Henry's Fork Lodge

Fall is here!

Fall has arrived on the Henry’s Fork. Elk are bugling, coyotes are howling, and fall foliage has burst into brilliant colors. As usual, the change in weather has also given a booster shot to the fishing, with renewed hatches, browns aggressive in preparation for spawning, and all fish feeding eagerly before the coming winter. Nichole Dye of Big Sky Anglers caught a beauty this week out on Wood Rd. 16 using a blue winged olive. Thanks to Patsy Ishiyama for sharing the photo above. The summer crowds are largely gone, so angling with few others around is a treat that knowledgeable anglers enjoy in fall.

We are grateful to all of you who came to the Lodge this season. We were delighted to hear about your fishing successes and other outdoor adventures in the Henry’s Fork/Yellowstone area, and we were especially pleased to introduce a great many people to the Lodge and to the sport of fly fishing. We hope you’ll return again soon.

To keep you engaged with fly fishing over the next few months, we’ve produced some additional short fly fishing videos that we’ll publish on our YouTube channel. Videos on wading, playing big fish, handling and releasing fish, and subtle indicator tricks will, we hope, introduce new anglers and experienced ones alike to new information and techniques.

We were busier this season than ever before and next season promises to be more of the same, so planning now for a return stay will ensure you space at the Lodge when you want it and a choice of your favorite guides. We look forward to seeing you in 2022!
