A Safe Haven in the Rockies

We at Henry’s Fork Lodge are doing our best to make the lodge a safe, healthy and inviting place for our guests and staff. We’ve stocked up on protective gear and supplies, made operating plans for all parts of the lodge and received approval for our dining room and kitchen plan from the Eastern Idaho Public Health Deptartment. We’ll have only lodge guests in the dining room for the foreseeable future. All of us will be tested for COVID-19 at the beginning of our season, monitored daily for any symptoms and trained in all the new protective measures. Our goal is for you to feel safe and comfortable during your stay with us so you can enjoy your vacation without any anxieties whenever you come. The Lodge will open on June 1.

The most recent good news is that non-resident fishing licenses are freely available at the shops and the 14-day self-quarantine rule is now non-mandatory. Currently, Idaho is the state with the third-fastest declining rate of COVID-19 cases at 1.1 cases per 100,000 people, and Fremont County, home to the lodge, has had only two cases, total.

On the fishing front, the early season on the Henry’s Fork brings some of the most outstanding fishing in the West. The river’s big spring sources, which are highly unusual for a major river, make the Henry’s Fork clear and fishable with dry flies from the start of the season in late May. That’s when the giant salmonflies and golden stoneflies hatch and attract some of the biggest fish to the surface and dry flies.

Of course, throughout the season we will maintain our extra measures to keep everyone safe, healthy and comfortable. We hope you’ll find the lodge to be an ideal destination for a fishing vacation and a welcome, wide-open relief from home confinement.

All the best,
Nelson & Amelie
