Opening the 2021 Season
Our Lodge season opens on May 28, the day before Opening Day in Idaho. We’re very excited about the coming fishing season and our upcoming season at the Lodge.
The Lodge will be busier this season than it’s ever been. We will be almost totally booked during June and July with a few openings still available, and we have slightly more space in August and September. A full Lodge means more opportunities for you to socialize with fellow guests and make new friends around our common love of fly fishing. As usual we’ll have a big contingent of our regular guests, many who’ve come for 20 years or more, but we’ll also welcome a great many newer guests who will bring fresh excitement in discovering the Henry’s Fork and the Lodge. We hope your stay will be made more exciting and enjoyable sharing your fishing stories and adventures with our other guests.
Fishing on the Henry’s Fork always begins with a bang. The salmonfly hatch of late May and early June is one of the highlights of the season, and the Henry’s Fork is one of the very few rivers in the Rockies to enjoy clear, fishable water so early in the year. The cycle of the hatches and the succession of rivers that come into their prime over the course of the season should make for excellent fishing throughout the summer and early fall.
Our staff is eager to get started and will be headed by Jamie Short, who managed the Lodge from 2001 to 2005 and whom we’re delighted to have back with us again. Matthew Dusharme, our head chef, will be back for his seventh year and assures us of outstanding cuisine once again. His wife, Sasha, will again be an assistant manager and Amelie Kappes will be our invaluable home office leader overseeing everything in her 20th year of working for the Lodge.
Again this season, we’ll be especially vigilant about your health and safety. All of our staff will have been vaccinated and tested and we monitor their health daily when they come to work. We’ll take special care with the cleanliness of the Lodge and will have all the supplies for guests’ needs for a safe and healthy stay.
Contact us via phone (208-558-7953) or email to set up your trip, if you have not already. I look forward to reunions with our repeat guests and welcoming our new guests to the Lodge.
